Back In Boston – The End (kind of)

And so, after dropping some of our number in New York, we arrived on Boston to end the Green Tortoise trip once and for all – and, in a way, to end most of my trip.  I can now say that I made it across the USA and back, having traveled one coast to the other and returned, all in the same (now discarded) pair of Converse:

I’m now back in the arms of the first city I fell for on my trip, and in the arms of a very good companion I met at the start, and whom I’ll be enjoying getting to know better in the few weeks between now and my flight home.

I’m sure there’ll be more to talk about – I’ll be spending a few weekends on “the Capes”, exploring Cape Cod, Truro and Provincetown.  I’ll also be road-tripping down to Philly one weekend as well.  There’s certainly a lot more adventures to be had, and a lot more things to see.

Overall, however, I think the last major chapter of the tour has been closed and, if anything, this is the epilogue of my journey.

Looking back on it, it’s almost hard to believe the person I was when I landed here is going to be the same person that will leave.  I’m tempted to say that, save for the name, photo and passport number, he really won’t be.  This trip has taught me so much, given me so much, and while I won’t be ready to travel the world the moment I get home, I’m so glad I chose to do this.
